Young audience members are invited to come early to “Talk to the Animals” at Summer Stage prior to the Wednesday morning show. Furry friends from the Delaware County SPCA will be on site to meet young audience members!
July 10, 2014 – Drexel Hill, PA. Upper Darby Summer Stage will travel across the animal kingdom when the musical “Dr. Dolittle Jr.” comes to town. Performances are July 23, 24 and 25 at 10:30 am and on July 24 at 7:30 pm.
A special “Talk to the Animals Morning at Summer Stage,” sponsored by the Delaware County SPCA, will take place prior to the Wednesday morning show, July 23 from 9:30 am until 10:20 am. Young audience members can meet with animals from the SPCA before the show!
Based on the classic movie musical starring Rex Harrison, “Dr. Dolittle, Jr.” is a Summer Stage premiere that tells the tale of the doctor who learned to talk to the animals and the epic adventures that follow. Summer Stage will create puppets and fantastic animal characters and will surround them with a chorus of Scottish townspeople, circus performers and south sea islanders in this exciting new musical.
The 70-minute performances of “Dr. Dolittle, Jr.” will take place on July 23, 24, 25 at 10:30 am and on July 24 at 7:30 pm. Tickets are $7 – $10 and can be purchased online at www.udpac.org or by calling the box office: 610.622.1189.
“Dr. Dolittle, Jr.” is ideal for ages four and up and free babysitting is offered for those who are too young to enjoy the show quietly. The Upper Darby Performing Arts Center is located in Drexel Hill, at 601 N. Lansdowne Avenue, minutes from the Main Line and Center City. Parking is free.
Pre-show activities are offered prior to the morning shows on July 23, 24 and 25 so audience members are encouraged to come early and join in the fun! Cast members are available for photos after all the performances.
