Summer Stage invites audiences on a magic carpet ride with “Disney’s Aladdin, Jr.”

Aladdin, Jasmine and the Genie will all take the stage in the spectacular 40th season finale.

July 30, 2015 – Drexel Hill, PA. Upper Darby Summer Stage invites audiences on a magic carpet ride when “Disney’s Aladdin, Jr.” takes the stage. The 40th season finale will be performed on August 12, 13 and 14 at 10:30 a.m. and August 13 at 7:30 p.m. at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center. Based on the 1992 Disney film, audiences will travel to a whole new world and visit the Land of Enchantment.

Limited tickets are available and can be purchased online at or by calling the box office: 610.622.1189. Upper Darby Performing Arts Center is located in Drexel Hill at 601 N. Lansdowne Avenue, minutes from the Main Line and Center City. The show is approximately 60 minutes with no intermission. Parking is free and free babysitting is available for those who are too young to enjoy the show quietly.

All of the favorite characters from the hit Disney film take to the stage including Aladdin (Danny Walsh of Aldan), Jasmine (Emma Barrera of Drexel Hill), Iago (Gina Prince of Drexel Hill), Jafar (Jason Buzzell of Havertown), the Genie (Victoria Donnelly of Havertown) and more. The showstopping musical adventure is filled with magic, mayhem and flying carpet rides.

Besides enjoying the show, young audience members are invited to come early to performances to participate in fun pre-show activities and stay after the show to meet cast members. “Disney’s Aladdin, Jr.” is ideal for ages four and up.

Director, Jeff Dietzler said, “We’re trying to pay homage to the Broadway production and how it was made as a real story with real people while at the same time still paying homage to the movie.” He added, “There are a lot of magical moments in the show and we’re working to create true magic on stage for the audiences.”

For forty seasons Upper Darby Summer Stage has been empowering young people and entertaining families throughout the Philadelphia region. A recent winner of the Main Line Parent’s “Best Children Theatre” award, the program is also a five-time consecutive MyFoxPhilly HotList winner in the “Best Theatre” category from 2008-2012.

The Upper Darby Performing Arts Center and Upper Darby Summer Stage are jointly sponsored by Upper Darby Township Mayor and Council and the Upper Darby School District Board of School Directors through the Department of Recreation and Leisure Services.

    I attended the 08/12/15 Aladin performance with my children today and I have to say that the show was fantastic. The cast was brilliant and the costumes may me feel like I was in Arabia. Great job to all involved in this play.
