Disney’s Oscar-nominated film brought to life on stage with Mulan, Mushu and friends!
July 21, 2016 – Drexel Hill, PA. “Disney’s Mulan, Jr.” will come alive at Upper Darby Summer Stage in two weeks. Performances are August 3, 4 and 5 at 10:30 a.m. and on August 4 at 7:30 p.m. at the Upper Darby Performing Arts Center.

The Upper Darby Performing Arts Center is located in Drexel Hill at 601 N. Lansdowne Avenue, minutes from the Main Line and Center City. The show is approximately 60 minutes, with no intermission. Parking is free. The show is ideal for ages four and up and free babysitting is offered for siblings who may be too young to sit through the entire show.
Audiences can travel back to the legendary days of ancient China with this action-packed stage adaptation of Disney’s Oscar-nominated animated film, Mulan. The Huns have invaded, and it is up to the misfit Mulan (Mackenzie Lee of Bryn Mawr) and her mischievous sidekick Mushu (Bryant Carter of Upper Darby) to save the Emperor (Seamus Magee of Havertown). Mulan is dealt the task of saving all of China in this heartwarming celebration of culture, honor and a fighting spirit.
Director, Sarah DeNight said, “We are hoping to bring some of the well-known Disney Magic from the movie to the show and then mix it with our Summer Stage magic.” She added, “This show teaches audiences that they can simply be the hero or heroine of their story.”
A Summer Stage show is a unique experience. Young audience members are invited to come early to performances to participate in fun pre-show activities and stay after the show to meet cast members.
For 41 seasons Upper Darby Summer Stage has been empowering young people and entertaining families throughout the Philadelphia region. A two-time consecutive winner of the Main Line Parent’s “Best Children Theatre” Love Award, the program is also a five-time consecutive MyFoxPhilly HotList winner in the “Best Theatre” category.
