January 26, 2017 • Drexel Hill, PA – Upper Darby Performing Arts Center offers a fun night out on February 10 at 7:30 pm with “The Battle of the Sexes,” a night of clean comedy featuring four world-class comedians from New York City.
Two male comics, two female comics – married and single – talk about relationships and other wonders. The Ivy League of Comedy invites audiences to kick off the Valentine’s Day holiday with tales of love and not-love, bad dinners and good dates, broken cars and unbroken dreams.
Tickets for the live performance are $15 – $16 and may be purchased online at www.udpac.org or by calling 610.622.1189. Upper Darby Performing Arts Center is located at 601 N. Lansdowne Avenue in Drexel Hill.
The Ivy League of Comedy is the premier group of stand-up comedians touring America. Their shows honor audiences with original, well-written comedy that doesn’t resort to playing on stereotypes or picking on the audience, and is delivered by stand-up comedy’s funniest and brightest.
The outstanding line-up of talent features Karen Bergreen, Liz Meile, Mike Recine, and Wali Collins.
Frequently on Comedy Central Karen Bergreen graduated from Harvard University, went on to law school and then made the predictable transition and became a comedian! A regular at New York City’s Gotham Comedy Club, The Comic Strip and Broadway Comedy Club, Karen has appeared on VH1, ABC’s “The View,” on NickMoms, and The Oxygen Network.
The talented Liz Miele started doing stand-up in New York City at 16, at 18 was profiled in “The New Yorker Magazine,” and at 22 appeared in Comedy Central’s, “Live at the Gotham.”
Mike Recine is one of New York City’s busiest comedians. Besides performing at nearly every comedy venue in NYC, Mike has performed stand-up on “Late Night with Conan O’Brien,” written for the MTV Video Music Awards, performed in the Montreal Just for Laughs Festival, and been nominated for Time Out New York’s Joke of the Year.
Wali Collins is a regular at all of the mainstream comedy clubs in the United States including New York City and Los Angeles. He even headlines and tours at Comedy clubs in Europe and Asia. His television credits include NBC, CBS, FOX, HBO, ABC, VH1, Comedy Central and on “Late Show with David Letterman.”
The Upper Darby Performing Arts Center and Upper Darby Summer Stage are jointly sponsored by the Upper Darby School District Board of School Directors and Upper Darby Township Mayor and Council through the Department of Recreation and Leisure Services.
